In October 2020 I started teaching at the University of Music and Arts in Mannheim as Professor for Jazz-Saxophone and Ensemble. I’m very happy about this opporttunity and it already has been a great experience so far working with wonderful students and colleagues.
The Shannon Barnett Quartet was selected to record a full set of music at the WDR in Cologne for this year’s Jazzfest Berlin Online Edition. It turned out very nice and we had a great time playing. The video is available on the Arte concert website. Please check it out.

An one hour radio feature by Anja Buchmann about me and my new album PYJAMA was just released by the German radio station Deutschlandfunk. It’s really fun listening to (if I may say so myself). Some secrets about the compositions and the interior of my practice booth are also revealed. You con listen to it HERE.
Our album Stefan Karl Schmid/ Philipp Brämswig - ANIMA is now available on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms. It features the wonderful Robert Landfermann on bass and Jonas Burgwinkel on drums.
In autumn we are going to release our second album. Until then feel free to enjoy some ANIMA music!
I’m very excited about my new project PYJAMA. It features wonderful musicians from the Cologne jazz scene I have played with in different contexts over the last years. Our first concert will be at the Loft in Cologne!

We already had a couple of great concerts with Reza's Trio ROAR. We have been playing in Wiesbaden, Bremen, Aachen and Nuernberg and there will be more soon (see schedule).
